ADP Opens Second Centre in India Upping Headcount

ADP India, the wholly owned subsidiary of USA-based Automatic Data Processing Inc., one of the largest payroll and tax filing processors in the world, serving more than 550,000 clients, plans to set up a second centre in India. As well, it will up the headcount of its Hyderabad centre from 1,700 to 2,400 by July 2007. Meanwhile, the company is exploring the cities of Pune, Kolkata and Gurgaon for a suitable location for its second centre.
Declining to divulge any investment details, Shakti Sagar, ADP Managing Director told Economic Times that 500-people will be hired to man the new centre, with a view to expanding the company s presence into North India.
Mainly engaged in software development and solution centre services (BPO), ADP India has three business divisions i.e. employer services, brokerage and automobile dealer solutions. And, software development is a part of the client support services of the three business units. In an effort to enhance service delivery, the company offers software solutions in mainframe, ERP applications, web technologies and testing services.
Recently, the company moved into an 18,000 sq. ft. facility in Hyderabad and: Last year, the centre recorded 77% growth and this year we expect to register 55% growth, says Balaji, Director of the American Goliath s Indian arm. And, according to him, in the last two years, the Hyderabad centre has grown substantially handling employer services. This division contributes 60% of our worldwide revenues. This financial year, ending July 2007, we will increase our headcount by 700, he adds.
